Nowadays, smart connected objects are being adopted to improve related features for the cities such as the quality of everyday citizens life, for working environments in manufacturing, for safety and efficiency in healthcare, and for management of transportations.
The integration of Web technologies aims to support the development of smart infrastructures in several domains including critical ones. The maturity, scalability and efforts of standardisation of these technologies have led to the emergence of the Web of Things (WoT) and Semantic Web of Things (SWoT).
Nevertheless, the context of large numbers of various objects from different domains implies dealing with interoperability, integration of a multitude of software, static and mobile physical components, evolving in highly unpredictable dynamic environments with complex and hard requirements. The current trend is to use knowledge representation and more generally artificial intelligence to overcome these issues.
The goal of SSWoT is to bring together researchers and practitioners both from the academia and from the industry of different communities such as the semantic Web, Internet of Things, Cloud and Fog based systems. SSWoT aims at addressing the growing needs of dynamic and adaptive services oriented for the Web of Things and to share and promote solutions, expertise, and ongoing research on defining rich models, design, execution, monitoring, predictive/detective analysis, diagnosis, and adaptation approaches.
